Elle's Studio Card Trio

Who doesn't love receiving a handmade card? I had so much fun batch creating this trio of cards. There's a process video and more info about this on the Elle's Studio blog today. You can also watch the video below!

Fit 2018 | January 2018

Hiya! In 2018 I've decided to step up my game on the health, fitness and wellness front. For so many reasons but mainly because I want energy! It's the problem of my adult life. I'll take all the help and motivation I can get. So I joined Cathy Zielske's Fit 2018 class and I have to say I'm so excited about it!

I participated in the first Move More Eat Well (the original iteration of this class) and also signed up for Fit 2016. 2016 is pretty much when my health took a downward spiral and I used that as an excuse to just not eat well or exercise. Counterintuitive I know!

For this year's class I decided to go with a 6x8 pocket page album. I purchased the yellow stripped Simple Stories 6x8 album because yellow makes me happy. I also decided to print the cards out in black and white and the overall color scheme is black, white, yellow and gray. I also decided to use stars and silver as accents. 

The January creative prompt for the class is to create an intention page. Mine is below and I love how it turned out! I'm also happy to be using touches of silver in this project.

Did you notice the little tracker cards? I'm pulling out each week's and including them in my planner. It's much easier to track that way.

"This is Us" Scrapbook Layout

The colors are what get me about Elle's Studio products. They're just so good! I love how bright and cheery they are.

For this layout, I used all the colors in my January 2018 kit and most of the journaling tags to document a few cute and silly photos of my and MT. I know I used this technique last month, but I love this layered patterned look!

I also used the XOXO 6x6 Paper Stack to get more color onto the middle of my page. The X's and O'x were cut out using my Silhouette Cameo. That was the first idea I had for this page. The X's and O's across the middle and then I built the layout from there.

The "This is Us" journaling tag was too perfect for this page and my favorite from the kit. I cut it down a bit so that it would be closer in size to my photos. Then I stamped our initials using Stanley Jr. Alphabet Solid Stamp and gray ink. Last I added an ampersand from the awesome new cardstock letter stickers Elle's been releasing.

"U are Loved" Scrapbook Layout

After receiving all of these amazing love themed products from Elle's Studio, I couldn't not document some of the people I love. And of course, the love felt between them. These are photos of my nephew and my papa from my nephew's birthday last year. Urijah loves his Gpa. I love the real smiles I was able to capture and how they're interacting.

I started sketching up ideas of how I could layout the photos and was almost immediately drawn to all of the great arrows that were included in this month's release. For this page, I used arrows from the XOXO Stamp set, Hugs & Kisses Puffy Stickers, and Love You Die Cuts.

I also love that the gray patterned paper from the 12x12 Family Fun paper collection worked so well with this page!

I converted my photos to black and white because the colors were really distracting. Urijah's wearing bright orange swim trunks in them. I like how the black and white focuses your attention on their faces and not their clothes.

Pretty much the whole page was based off this You are Loved wood veneer. I loved the mix of fonts and of course the arrow thrown in there. I painted it red to go along with my black, white, gray, red and teal color scheme.

Elle's Studio January 2018 Release

It's that time! First, can't believe we're into 2018 and second, yay for new Elle's Studio goodness!! I created two layouts using this month's kit and extras. I've just been in a layout making mood lately and I'm gonna go with it. Click the photos to learn more about each project.

I'm such a fan of icons. And this month, there were a ton of great arrows sprinkled amongst the kit and extras. Arrows in the XOXO Stamp set, You are Loved Wood Veneer, Hugs & Kisses Puffy Stickers, and Love You Die Cuts. Another fave was the XOXO 6x6 Paper Stack that coordinated. I LOVE the blue paper with multicolored dots.
